Back to Cool.
This summer I had my initial foray into having my own studio space.  in some ways, it was decided that this was going to be a trial run and I was going to see if it would be beneficial to the fostering and growing of sweet goods.  It really was - I guess how could it not be?! So with the end of summer, was also the end of the summer sublet.  Knowing that I had become used to having a space separate from my own apartment, I was on the search for another, more permanent space - and just like that, I got one! thanks to my great bud and awesome studio mate Jenna Ransom ( (jennaransom.com) if you haven’t already..)  We moved together to a more permanent space in Greenpoint.  And I am stoked.  We share with the very talented and hard-working artist Cheryl Molnar (check this too!! cherylmolnar.com) who does these amazing mixed media panels that explore ”the American Dream as it has evolved from my parents’ generation through mine.”  She was so very kind to let me use one of her pieces as a backdrop for this DSW i just finished for a friend. An American designed and made chair against an American designed and dreamed of landscape.

Travelers
Hello!  Summer is starting to wind down even though the calendar says that there is something like 38 days left.  I took a swim at the beach today right before a huge thunderstorm in an effort to flex my summer muscles and to help with a cold.  if you grow up near a beach, then you know that early on you are taught that salt water heals everything.  it’s true! having a bad day, go swimming.  have a cold, drink some sea water.  have a cut, wash it in the ocean.
Anyways, summer is a time for travelling!  I’ve been here and there this summer: a road trip to Wisconsin, a road trip in Colorado, and a visit to North Carolina replete with a road trip back.  I’m not the only one that has been travelling though.  I’ve sent my chairs to a couple of fun places both near and FAR.  I had a double delivery in Manhattan last week: Tribeca and Chelsea.  And then the week or two prior I shipped a little gray side shell rocker to Switzerland.  BUT my biggest traveler, or should I say travelers, are a pair of Greige DAXs that I sent to Singapore.  I kindly asked the lovely lady who bought them to send me a picture of the pair in her space and well, the picture speaks for itself!  THEY are perfect, so in turn, i’m stoked.   It was a fair amount of work to try to get the shipping cost as low as possible and all the communication that was involved, but so worth it.
